HCEC loves providing uninterrupted power supply to our members. Keeping the lights on continues to be our top priority, as it has been for the past 85 years, and preventative measures must be taken for us to meet that goal. HCEC's right-of-way crew is dedicated to making sure the co-op's 5,200 mile service territory is maintained with routine tree-trimming. Debris and trees that are too close to the power lines may pose danger to the workers and the public and may cause power outages. Only Houston County EC's authorized employees and contractors are permitted to perform maintenance around or on the power lines.

The next time you see bucket trucks and saws being used near HCEC's lines, remember it's your right-of-way crew combating potential threats from power outages, and you can help by allowing access to your property. You can do so by allowing HCEC to have a lock on your gate, or providing a updated gate combination. As a utility, Houston County EC is considered critical infrastructure with responsibilities and rights to access the distribution system.

HCEC's Right-Of-Way contractors are Arbor Resources, Clearview, and Tree Xperts.
