Apply for Service

A social security number AND government-issued identification are required to complete this online application.  If you are lacking either, please visit our offices to apply in person.  Click here for contact information.

Once submitted, this application will be transmitted to a member service representative for review.  You will be contacted by phone to complete the application process and to notify you of any deposits or fees associated with connecting this service.  

Any applications received on weekends, holidays, or after business hours (M-F, 8a-5p CST) will be reviewed on the next business day.

To receive service from Houston County Electric Cooperative, the consumer must apply for membership. Applicants may be required to pay a deposit and any other applicable fees at the time of application.

Please be aware of the following items regarding residential applications:

  • In order to complete your application online, you must provide all information requested on the application.  You will not be able to submit the application if any of the required fields are left blank. 
  • You will be required to upload a copy of your government-issued identification card.
  • An application must be completed for EVERY meter that needs service.
  • Applications will be reviewed during normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, excluding holidays) and you will be contacted by phone to complete the application process.

Please be aware of the following items regarding commercial applications:

  •  A federal tax ID is required to submit the application.
  • The social security number of the business owner is required, along with a copy of a government-issued identification card for the owner.
  • You may request up to five meters on the commercial application, any more than that will require a new application to be filled out.  Each meter that the applicant is applying for must be included in the application.
  • Applications will be reviewed during normal business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, excluding holidays) and you will be contacted by phone to complete the application process.
