Houston County Electric Cooperative was formed in 1939 with one purpose in mind:  to bring affordable electricity to rural east Texans in and around Houston County.  After 72 years, our goal hasn’t changed.  We’re still working hard to bring you reliable electric service at the lowest possible cost.

The organization remains the same, with you and your elected board of directors making the major decisions that drive this co-op forward.  Your cooperative is guided by you and owned by you, our members.

We’re working together to keep your electric bills affordable.  We’re controlling costs through innovation.  And we’re continuing to put you, our members, first.   No matter what the future brings, one thing is certain.  We’ll be looking out for YOU.
